parent's role

A shared journey of growth

Parents Role
At Sense Kaleidoscopes, we view parents as co-constructors of their child's journey. Rooted in Reggio Emilia philosophy, we believe learning flourishes when families and educators walk together with mutual trust, curiosity, and intention. Families are supported through: Curriculum Workshops – Unpacking of the thinking behind our curriculum, to show alignment with their child's neurotype and fostering of cognitive, sensory, and social growth. Personalised Trainings – Practical strategies to create predictable routines, build regulation, and support the child's unique learning rhythms at home. Community Conversations – Warm, inclusive events that foster honest dialogue and shared meaning-making—redefining school as a community experience, not a place. Together, we co-create a living ecosystem of care—where the child is held by many, and learning becomes a shared act of presence, purpose, and growth.

why it matters

The Reality in India

Many neurodivergent children face cognitive regression, emotional distress, and exclusion due to outdated teaching models. Without structured early intervention, these challenges escalate over time.

How SK Fills the Gap

As India's first autism-specific primary school, we prevent regression and lay a strong foundation for lifelong learning. Our individualized, strengths-based approach ensures that every child builds the confidence, communication skills, and cognitive abilities needed to thrive.

Why choose Sense Kaleidoscopes?

Student story

Aarav’s Journey: From Rejection to Readiness

When 6-year-old Aarav first came to Sense Kaleidoscopes, he didn’t speak, make eye contact, or respond to his name. He had already been rejected by six schools and labelled “unmanageable” for biting, screaming, and bolting when overwhelmed. He couldn’t sit for more than ten minutes. His speech came in bursts—complex phrases copied from cartoons or adults, spoken without understanding. Aarav hadn’t lost language—he had never truly learned what it meant.
Traditional environments had failed him. At SK, we didn’t ask for answers. We started with meaning. He began with a 1:1 facilitator and a personalised sensory routine. Using our autism-specific academic curriculum, we introduced words as visuals, sounds, feelings, and actions. With animated lessons, color-coded grammar, SMART Boards, and custom dictionaries, mimicry slowly gave way to intention. Words became tools. Within eight months, he could identify objects, follow instructions, and smile in response. Social skills were taught through immersion—not correction. He learned to ask for help, pause, and self-regulate through real-world routines and sensory activities.
A year later, Aarav is toilet trained, sits for 90+ minutes, and reads with comprehension. His doctors report significant gains across all domains. Aarav didn’t just return to learning—he became a learner. His story isn’t rare here—it’s the transformation we witness every day.

Have some questions?

What is autism, really?

Does my child really need a ‘special’ school? Or can they try in mainstream?

Why doesn’t inclusion always work in regular schools?

What is a neuro-affirmative school?

What kind of children is SK meant for? What diagnoses?

What age group do you serve? Can older children also apply?

My child masks well and does okay academically — should we still consider SK?

We’ve just received a diagnosis — should we wait or act now?

What curriculum do you follow? Is it NIOS or something else?

Will my child learn regular subjects like math, science, reading, writing?

Do you teach in English or regional languages?

Do you offer digital literacy and tech skills?

Will my child get certified? How will this impact college options later?

What if my child has a specific interest — like dinosaurs or trains?

How do you handle different learning styles?

What’s the teacher-student ratio?

What kind of teacher training do your staff receive?

Are you a therapy centre or a school? What’s the difference in your approach?

Do you use worksheets or experiential methods?

How do you support children who are behind in reading or math?

Do children get homework?

My child is non-speaking. Can they still learn here?

What AAC tools or methods do you support?

Do you have speech and occupational therapy on-site?

How do you support emotional regulation and meltdowns?

What do you do if a child is aggressive or elopes?

How do you help children build friendships?

How do you teach social skills without making it forced or fake?

Do you use punishments or time-outs?

What is your admissions process?

This program is a
blueprint for change.

It bridges the gap between ability and opportunity, preparing neurodivergent teens for life beyond school—with confidence, clarity, and purpose.
